Riverton, Wyoming has been the home of Clark’s Meat House since 1963. A local retail & wholesale meat supplier owned & operated by Grant & Inger Clark until their retirement in 2005. Meat was the business and in early 1970 they started experimenting with a “special seasoning” to add to the flavor quality of the meat. When the mixing of spices finally satisfied their taste buds, it was time to offer their customers a taste of the new product. It did not take long before Clark’s Seasoning Blend became very popular and took the place of salt & pepper.
The seasoning started as a flavor enhancer specific to beef. It was used on all the prime ribs and steaks. But soon it was discovered that it was delicious on pork, chicken, and seafood. Then it was used on anything that was traditionally “salt & peppered”. So it became The Seasoning for all Seasons.
